We’ve been waiting for a long time for any news to come out in regards to The Elder Scrolls. Morrowind and Oblivion were games which we sunk hundreds upon hundreds of hours into and the prospect of returning to Tamriel is almost too much to bear.
So when Eurogamer Denmark reported that one of their editors had been in contact with a member of The Elder Scrolls V development team during an airplane trip that took place yesterday, we were quick to jump to the chance to find some additional information. Please note the following is an unconfirmed rumour and a direct translation of the original article with Google Translate:
He not only confirmed the role of the game’s current production, but also spoke briefly about the content – that is part fantasy scintillating words of like Dragon Lord, anything with Blades, and voice acting for the characters in the game is on in these weeks.
The same source confirmed with official game documents in hand, this will be a direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, which is the latest game in the now 16 years old Elder Scrolls saga and of itself one of the last years of better RPG for PC and consoles.
We convey thereto just what we’ve seen and heard, and respecting of course, that there is an NDA agreement for all involved, why we have chosen not to clarify details about either fly trip geographic details, case writer or the identity of the source of these sparse facts about the game.
So what do we think about this? We’re not quite sure to be honest. But we’ve had a strong suspicion that this title has been in the works for a while – and hope that the silence from the development team so far means that we’re looking at an absolutely huge world.
What would we want out of the next Elder Scrolls game? Mix gameplay elements from Morrowind with the better bits from Oblivion. Slap it all in a really pretty jacket with an incredibly immersive story. Bring back tons of factions, political intrigue and a massive open world to explore – and we’ll go and explore it. For hours, days, weeks, months.
Let us know what your wishes are from The Elder Scrolls V!
I want less bugs, crashes, glitches and all those problems.
I want a better story,more voice actors,better dialogues,more RP.
But what i want most is a sequel to morrowind.
I agree with you there – we really need the best bits of Morrowind in the sequel as Morrowind was in many ways a better game than Oblivion.
I would love the size of Daggerfall AND COOP !…
Mubcrabs. Filthy things.
What TeS:V needs is more voice actors.Oblivion was pretty cool but the fact that all NPCs(except the 1 Sheogorath and Haskill) had the same voices really bothered me.
