  1. I wanted so much to like the original, and I just couldn’t quite manage it. It looked great, it had all the potential, I really enjoyed the choose-your-own adventure quests on the strategy map. But it was so relentlessly hard, and so slow and repetitive, that I always ground to a boring halt where I couldn’t get any further into it. Maybe this will fix everything. Maybe.
